Artist's Statement   I studied at the Glasgow School of Art, Scotland from 1968 to 1972.   Whilst living in Australia for forty years I really enjoyed the incredible quality of the light on the landscape. The past two years have been entirely different. I now live in Scotland on the Moray coast, where the climate has had a huge influence and change in the direction of my paintings. My interests have always been reflected in my work where surfaces, structure and form have become my greatest passions. The sea now features more frequently in my work where movement and constant colour changes are evident due to the light and clouds. Geology is everywhere, cliffs, pebbles and the sandy shore where these amazing textures are my sources of inspiration. Layers are evident and the patterns produced I emulate and layer on my canvases. My ceramic work is varied, sometimes functional, but also mixed media using found timber. Some of my ceramics include the addition of enamel drawings and platinum lustre applied to the glazed pots.
